Emergency aid that arrives -

Take targeted action where help is needed

For us at ISAR Germany, emergency aid is a central component of our international work.

It directly addresses the specific needs of the people affected. At the same time, it is a strong and logical complement to our other areas of operation, Search and Rescue (SAR) and Emergency Medical Teams (EMT). It is precisely the interplay between these areas that enables us to provide assistance not only quickly, but also in a customised manner.

One of the main advantages of our work is that we are close to the action.

Our teams on site - whether in the acute rescue phase or in medical operations - give us a very clear picture of the situation. We can see immediately which structures have failed, which resources are lacking and where support will have the greatest effect. At the same time, we have close contacts with the players on the ground. This knowledge flows directly into our emergency aid. This enables us to provide targeted support where it is actually needed instead of providing blanket aid.

For example, we were able to provide extensive emergency aid after the earthquake in Turkey in 2023, including the construction of water treatment plants, support in the reconstruction of a family health centre and the supply of clothing and hygiene articles. This aid was always tailored to the respective needs.

The importance of emergency aid in our work is also evident in the context of the war in Ukraine.

By liaising closely with local partners, we knew exactly what relief supplies were needed - such as medical supplies, hygiene products, emergency power solutions or logistical support.

We therefore do not see emergency aid as an isolated area of responsibility, but as a logical continuation of our work in the field. It closes gaps, stabilises situations and supports people where other systems reach their limits. The fact that we provide this aid predominantly on a voluntary and at the same time professional basis is an essential part of our identity.

Our aim is to use help effectively - in a coordinated, needs-orientated and responsible manner.
