In the rubble on the training ground, the rescue dogs showed how they can track down buried people in an emergency. I.S.A.R. also provides so-called personal detection dogs. These can search for missing persons based on their individual odour.

In addition to the dogs, I.S.A.R. Germany also uses technical localisation equipment such as a listening device and a search camera. Unique in the Kleve district at present is the provision of the camera drone by I.S.A.R. Germany with a trained and authorised pilot for qualified reconnaissance of the scene. Other specialised equipment, such as a concrete chainsaw or a core drill, would also be deployed by I.S.A.R. Germany in the event of a disaster. „Nobody wants to think about a disaster, but it's good to know that the district of Kleve is professionally prepared for various emergencies, such as floods or major accidents. Many aid organisations are immediately ready to help on the spot in an emergency. I am very grateful to the emergency services for this. Dr Lesmeister and her qualified I.S.A.R. Germany team will also be on hand to help the district of Kleve in an emergency in future. The special equipment from I.S.A.R. Germany can help to save lives in crisis situations, for example in the event of a building collapse,“ emphasised District Administrator Wolfgang Spreen. „I.S.A.R.
