The I.S.A.R. Germany members Sonja Späth (rubble search), Anke Gellert-Helpenstein (mantrailing) and Norbert Helpenstein (cadaver search) had an exciting week with around 200 rescue dog handlers from all over the world (including Japan, Colombia, Croatia, Canada, Australia, Turkey, Jordan, etc.).
They took part in the International Training Week in Epeisses/Geneva. The Swiss association for search and rescue dogs Redog had organised the training there on a military training ground. The cooperation partner of I.S.A.R. Germany, the BRH (German Federal Association of Search and Rescue Dogs), had also sent some area and rubble search dog teams.
During the daily training sessions, the rescue dog specialists were able to watch each other at work, pass on valuable tips and also take home a lot of new information for their own work. International contacts were also made and strengthened.
