„As a Duisburg citizen, I had been familiar with the aid organisation I.S.A.R. from the press for years. This was also a reason for supporting I.S.A.R. after the devastating hurricane in the Philippines in 2013, as the recipient of a charity run that I organised. The outstanding, voluntary and selfless commitment of the I.S.A.R. staff impressed me greatly and prompted me to make my own personal contribution (both financially and organisationally).
On 16 October 2016, the „Rhine City Run“, a half marathon from Düsseldorf to Duisburg, and I am delighted that we were able to win I.S.A.R. as a charity partner once again.
We are of course hoping for numerous participants who support our idea of financially supporting I.S.A.R.“
„The earthquake in Nepal hit one of the poorest countries in the world and destroyed irretrievable cultural assets in addition to the unbelievable human suffering. The employees of DAL were just as shocked by this as the entire population in Germany. We used the resulting spontaneous willingness to donate to support I.S.A.R. with an amount of almost €12,000, as we were very impressed by their immediate help on the ground. This gives us the feeling that our donation really makes a difference and directly benefits the local people.
