Carl David was born almost exactly three years ago - on 18 November 2013 - in the middle of a disaster area.
The little boy was born after Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines at the joint treatment centre of the Bundesverband Rettungshunde e.V. and I.S.A.R. Germany. Our team took over the sponsorship at the time.
A lot has happened in the meantime. With the help of BRH and I.S.A.R., the mother was able to complete her training as a primary school teacher and the father was supported in repairing his tricycle. The father now makes regular journeys and is able to contribute to the family's livelihood. This year, concrete was poured underneath the house. Now the children no longer have to play in the mud. Carl David himself received a BRH Playmobil set on his last visit and was absolutely delighted with it.
