One week after the floods, our team is once again on the road in Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia to help clear the aftermath of the storm disaster. In Ahrweiler, the I.S.A.R. is helping to clear the streets in the historic town centre to make them passable again for residents, the fire brigade and rescue services. This task will continue to keep us busy over the next few days. The company Leonhard Weiss GmbH, which is providing heavy equipment, is an indispensable partner for us. At the same time, our construction consultants were working with the THW to assess the stability of buildings, and there was another deployment site in Stolberg. There, members of our team inspected over 20 bridges together with experts from the engineering firm Rückert and the civil engineering office in Stolberg. The drone team from the BRH Märkisches Sauerland e.V. rescue dog team was also deployed.
