The Haitian Ambassador to Germany Frantz Bataille has recognised the commitment of the medical team from I.S.A.R. Germany and BRH Bundesverband Rettungshund following the severe earthquake in his home country. „I would like to thank the team from the bottom of my heart on behalf of the Republic,“ said Bataille at a meeting with I.S.A.R. branch manager Peter Janssen. „The rapid response of the I.S.A.R. and BRH Emergency Medical Team has helped many people in the greatest need.“ Many lives were saved as a result. Children in particular were in a critical condition.
Bataille also thanked the relatives of the emergency services. He had great respect for their understanding. He also wanted to emphasise the commitment of employers who made it possible for employees to take time off work. „I am aware of how valuable human resources are these days. I would therefore like to take this opportunity to express my personal respect for the commitment of your employees.“
The ambassador expressed the hope that the aid organisations would continue their commitment in Haiti and continue to operate the infirmary on Les Cayemitis in order to continue to offer sick people a place to go. In future, there will be regular meetings between the ambassador and representatives of I.S.A.R. and BRH in order to promote further humanitarian aid for Haiti in the medium term. The training and further training of rescue workers was also suggested.
I.S.A.R. Germany and the BRH Federal Association of Rescue Dogs are deployed in Haiti with an Emergency Medical Team following the severe earthquake. The 35 doctors, nursing staff and paramedics are treating the injured on the island of Les Cayemitis.
