How vulnerable is a building to collapse? Is it perhaps still habitable? How many casualties are there at a damage site and how should unexpected incidents be dealt with during a rescue operation?
These and similar questions are part of everyday life for trained claims consultants. In a one-week practical course on the On Site Advisor in Wangen an der Aare, Switzerland, two I.S.A.R. emergency crews were also trained for this purpose. Organised by the Swiss rescue chain, organisations from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Luxembourg took part in the training and learned the basics of prioritising rescue sites as well as the fundamentals of team leadership in a rescue unit and team safety. In terms of content, the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group, or Insarag for short, sets out the training guidelines for implementation.
I.S.A.R. Germany has been certified by the United Nations Group since 2007. Read more here.
