The grammar school in Voerde has donated 10,000 euros to the work of I.S.A.R. Germany in Ukraine. The money was raised during a sponsored run. Pupils Annabell Kolodziej, Frieda Wibbelhoff, Selena D'Agostino and Merit Flohr had the idea for the sponsored run back in March, shortly after the Russian army attacked Ukraine. Together with their class 8a and sports teacher Markus Balthaus, they organised it within just a few weeks. A total of over 34,000 euros was raised during the sponsored run, which has now been handed over to Gänseblümchen e.V., UNICEF and I.S.A.R. Germany. However, part of the proceeds from the sponsored run will also remain at Voerde Grammar School. More than 20 children and young people from Ukraine are currently learning German here. The donation will be used by I.S.A.R. to provide medical care for children affected by the war. Thank you very much for this great support!
