A severe earthquake in the fictitious Republic of Rhinelandia, thousands of injured people and numerous deaths: that was the scenario that awaited the medical team on Wednesday (12 October 2022). Together with five other teams from Germany, Austria and Luxembourg, the Emergency Medical Team (EMT) is currently practising in Hünxe. In addition to doctors, emergency paramedics, nurses and other medical staff as well as members of our management team are also involved. The training lasts until Saturday, with exercises taking place day and night.
The people in distress are mimed by around 200 emergency actors, who are treated by the emergency services with various injuries and care needs.
