I.S.A.R. Germany has so far supported the people in war-torn Ukraine with over 300 tonnes of relief supplies. More than 30 lorry loads of medical equipment, medicines, firefighting equipment, power generators, lighting and hygiene products, among other things, have been transported to Ukraine. An ambulance, two vehicles for transporting sick and disabled children and a minibus were also made available.
All of this was only possible with the support of numerous partners and donors. Many transports were carried out together with our partner organisation BRH Bundesverband Rettungshunde, which also procured relief supplies and brought them to Ukraine together with us. I.S.A.R. Germany was able to realise several aid campaigns with the support of the „RTL-Wir helfen Kindern“ foundation.
The ambulance was provided by the Swiss company Chameleon. I.S.A.R. Germany upgraded the vehicle for use in the Ukrainian-Polish border region. The operating costs were also covered for one year.
Pupils, parents and teachers at Gaesdonck Grammar School showed particular commitment. They collected around 50,000 euros. This was used to finance one of the disabled transporters and power generators, the second disabled transporter with a donation from the Rotar-Club Rhein-Ruhr. The Konrad-Adenauer-Gymnasium in Kleve donated 13,000 euros. The school had launched the „War is not an April Fool's joke“ campaign.
Ten lorry loads of medicines and food supplements came from the company DenkPharma. We were able to hand over extensive medical equipment to hospitals, such as ultrasound equipment, ventilators and an operating table.
All the relief supplies were first taken to our warehouse in Rzeszów, Poland. From there, they travelled to Ukraine. In Zhytomyr, the relief supplies were handed over to the local authorities and our partner organisation „Ja Mama“. Thanks to the support of our local partners, we were able to precisely identify the aid requirements and provide targeted help. In addition to medical facilities, we supported large families and families with sick and disabled children, for example.
Specialised food for children, power generators, large tents and tent heaters were also handed over. The fire brigades in Ukraine were supported with specialised equipment (e.g. chainsaws, breakers, firefighting clothing).
