In December, I.S.A.R. Germany was honoured with the "Friendship and Peace" award for its relief efforts following the severe earthquake in Turkey. The Association of Turkish Journalists and Newspaper Journalists in Europe awarded this prize in recognition of the organisation's role in promoting German-Turkish understanding.
The earthquake in Turkey caused enormous damage and called for rapid international assistance. I.S.A.R. Germany responded promptly with rescue and support measures. Their efforts were not only an immediate response to the disaster, but also helped to strengthen relations between Germany and Turkey.
