I.S.A.R. Germany took part in commemorative events to mark the anniversary of the devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria with a small team of emergency personnel from all areas of the SAR team. The seven members of the team learnt about the status of the reconstruction work on site and visited a camp where people who lost everything in the severe earthquakes in 2023 live.
I.S.A.R. Germany is still supporting the local people and, among other things, provided a drinking water treatment plant and set up a medical care centre in the Kirikhan region in Hatay province.
I.S.A.R. emergency services personnel were also present at the commemorations. CEO Michael Lesmeister gave a speech in which he looked back on one of the organisation's biggest missions.
