I.S.A.R. Germany held the INSARAG recertification of the Chinese USAR teams from 24 to 29 May 2025. CHN-01 and CHN-02 in Beijing. Both heavy teams, each with 90 emergency personnel and six rescue dogs, successfully completed the demanding 36-hour exercise under extreme conditions.

Use under realistic conditions

In temperatures of over 34 degrees Celsius, the teams had to master a complex earthquake scenario. They were tested on their skills in the following areas Search, Rescue, Medical, Logistics and Management. The assessment was carried out by an international team of classifiers using the tried-and-tested INSARAG traffic light system - a red light in one area would have resulted in a fail.

Both teams passed with flying colours

CHN-01 and CHN-02 impressed with their professional processes, structured approach and high level of commitment. Both teams received recertification with only a few points for improvement. The certificates were presented during a festive ceremony by members of the INSARAG secretariat.

Professional exchange at international level

I.S.A.R. Germany was involved as part of the international classifier team in the areas of search and rescue. The stay offered valuable opportunities for professional exchange with colleagues from other countries - a key contribution to the continuous development of international disaster relief.
