I.S.A.R. Germany has been selected by an independent jury as one of 100 initiatives from almost 300 applications for the startsocial counselling grant 2025/26. The award from the non-profit organisation startsocial e.V. recognises the work of our voluntary civil protection organisation and enables targeted further development in the area of professional communicationn.

Expertise from industry for disaster protection

The scholarship connects Economy and Civil society through a targeted transfer of knowledge. Starting in November, two experienced specialists and managers will accompany us on a voluntary basis for four months. Together, they will develop strategies and measures to further strengthen the organisation's impact.

Dr Jutta Bodem-Schrötgens, Managing Director of startsocial e.V., emphasises: "Civil society Commitment is the backbone of our democracy - especially in these turbulent times. With our advisory grants, we want to strengthen the initiatives so that they can develop their impact even better."

Why professional public relations work is crucial

As an aid organisation funded exclusively by donations, I.S.A.R. Germany relies on the trust and support of the public. Every mission, every piece of equipment and every training session for the volunteers is made possible by donations. Professional communication via social media is therefore far more than just an additional channel - it is central to the organisation's ability to work.

Social Media fulfils several essential functions for I.S.A.R. Germany: Transparency towards donors through authentic insights into Deployments and Projects, fast Crisis communication for acute Disastersacquisition of new volunteer helper and the continuous development of Trust through direct, comprehensible reporting.

Sustainable further development as a goal

The success rate of the programme is impressive: last year, 99% of the initiatives supported stated that they had developed significantly as a result of the grant. I.S.A.R. Germany will use the next four months to further sharpen its communication strategy and establish sustainable structures for public relations work.

The knowledge gained will flow directly into day-to-day work - for the benefit of the organisation and ultimately the people who need fast, professional help in crisis situations.
